![]() ![]() ![]() I enjoyed following Grace as she worked toward her goal and thought the final plot twist was well set up, though I didn't see it coming. The story feels very authentic and gives a good sense of the era. Grace is a strong character and often is so determined to succeed, whether it's to master a daring new stunt or raise the funds they need to get to the expo, that she just can't see what the others around her need. ![]() Their four person crew adds a mechanic, Henry, an injured WWI vet, whom she is reluctant to trust at first, but eventually falls for only to come to suspect that he might be in the employ of the archrival who runs another barnstorming team. They are hoping to raise the money to get to the World Aviation Expo and win a contract with a Hollywood movie studio to ensure they can continue to perform. Grace is an 18yo orphan who performs in her uncle's Midwest barnstormer show. This is a YA historical inspired by the exploits of real life female wing walkers in the 1920's. ![]()
